valley. I doubt they see snow very often.
On the 30th of January, John and I loaded our car full of about five suitcases and headed out on an adventure. We drove to Las Vegas and stayed with our daughter, Paula and our son in law Rex that night. Rex fixed us some of his famous spaghetti sauce and we had spaghetti and salad and garlic bread. Then we visited and watched T.V. and went to bed. We got up the next morning and headed for California. Brandon and Janna were staying in a nice hotel by Disneyland, and we stopped there and ate a snack for breakfast. Then we took two of their kids and headed for San Pedro to catch the ship. A nice car picked them up and the other child and all their luggage. We followed them, as we figured the driver would know where he was going, but when he turned to go towards the beach, we lost track of him and we (and our trusty tom tom GPS that the kids gave John for Christmas) made it to the port where the ship was docked. They had to call us to see how to get there because their driver was lost! They finally got there and we unloaded and went in and got checked in. We had to be on board before five p.m. and I think we were there by around two or three. So, we had fun checking out the ship before we ever sailed. Our room was wonderful because it was big (for a cruise ship anyway). We had a larger than usual deck and bathroom and a big king size (not two twins put together) bed too. We cruised that night and all the next day and another night, before we arrived at Cabo San Lucas on Tuesday morning. The ship was too large to dock, so we got taken to shore on smaller boats that held maybe twenty people. It was raining when we went through customs and we started to walk into the main part of town and John and I decided not to because it was too far and so we found a bench under an umbrella and watched people at Sr. Frogs dance and act crazy and all the people shopping, etc. We went in a few shops right around there. We waited until we got back on board ship to eat and boy did we ever eat. It was formal night that night and so we dressed up and met Brandon's family there and also another couple that shared our table the whole trip, Steve and Leslie Medlock. Then we cruised all night again and ended up in Mazatlan the next morning. It was a beautiful more tropical place than Cabo. We got off the ship there and took a trolley excersion around the city and shopped a little. Then we cruised all night again and were in Purto Vallarta the next morning. This was a beautiful place too, with lots of tall hotels along the beautiful beaches. We took a tour on a nice bus and it was fun. We boarded the ship that night and cruised that night (Thursday) until we got back to California on Sunday morning. The ocean was kind of rough coming home, about all the water sloshed up out of the pools and they closed one of them because of the waves, but we made it. It was a wonderful trip. We took Brandon to the airport to rent a car because their flight didn't leave for Salt Lake until that afternoon. Then we headed home. We got back to Paula's and they were at the Super Bowl at Wardell's and so we watched it (or John did) at Paula's. I was asleep when they got home and woke up after they had been home for some time. We did talk a little and then we all went to bed. We got back to Cedar the next day.
