Grandpa Princes' old home on Main Street in New Harmony is being torn down. My brother, Brent wrote a neat blog about it that can be found on brentprince.blogspot.com for those of you who would like to know more about it. Our kids that live around here wanted to go down and have one last look at it before it goes, so Saturday, we went to Harmony. When we got there, Shon and Kenyon and their family's were already there. They had taken a few mementos of the time we spent living there. Some old cabinet doors, windows, etc. I also got some window frames. My cousin Rolaine was there getting things for the historical society. Her grandson and some cousins were there too. When we left, we rode up the canyon to the cattle guard and built a fire and roasted hot dogs. It was so fun. I thought it would be too cold, but with the fire and the nice warm sun, it was really nice. We sat up chairs around the fire and visited and ate. Grady and Mataya played so cute together in the dirt. Other then some slight skirmishes over what chairs to sit in, they got along so good and it was so cute. And Quinn, just sat and enjoyed the fire and didn't even seem to mind that he didn't have anyone his age to play with. We had some good salads with the hot dogs and chips and drinks. And Trisha brought some of the Black family brownies that were delicious. The Spevak men, got out their guns and did some target practicing, which was fun for them. I think Mataya and Quinn tried their hands at it too. We had to leave at 5:30 to make it to the night meeting of Stake Conference, and I think the rest left right after we did. It was such a fun day, (I think it may be the first day of spring), but if not, it sure seemed that way after a long snowy winter....thanks's Kenyon, for thinking of it!!

That was really fun, I was not looking forward to being cold, but the weather was beautiful!! I am so glad we got to take some things from the old house.. Thanks for sharing..
i'v been thinking about that old house all day. still sad to think about it getting torn down. im glad you guys got to get some things from it before it did. at least we have all those memories. the cookout sounds fun. its getting to be that time of year!
What a fun cook out! Can you grab a window frame or cabinet door for us from the old house? We are sad that it will be gone the next time we come down. We are planning on coming down the weekend of Apr 10th to go to Garth Brooks in Vegas. But it won't be soon enough.
