On the 10th of September, we were invited to go to the Black's Cabin at Duck Creek for lunch and some 4 wheeling. Well, we woke up that morning and it was really stormy looking, and the Blacks called us from Duck Creek and told us it was raining hard there. We decided to take the 4 wheelers just in case, and so we left. When we got there, the Schoppmanns were there already. They knew their map reading better than we did. Anyway, they were feeding the deer that were gathering right at the front door of their cabin. It was so neat. Then they fed us lunch of some great chicken salad sandwiches and all the trimmings. Well, when we got done eating, the sun had come out and so we loaded up and went for a ride that we had never been on. We went to the entrance to Duck Creek and took a trail west to the pond itself. We crossed the road to the south and went up to Cascade Falls and then to the Ice cave. It started sprinkling on us and so we all put our rain geer on kept going. It didn't last long and we ended up taking them off.We then followed a trail back to the subdivision where Bishop Brown's cabin is. We drove around there for a while and then went back to the cabin, where we had steaks and salads and a great desert. It was such a fun day with good food, and good friends.
