On Saturday, the 4th of October, John and I rode to St. George to see the St. George Marathon. We had two good reasons to go. Our sons, Brandon and Shon were both entered in it. This is the second year they have entered. Their families went down the night before and stayed in a condo in Green Valley. It rained on us all the way from Cedar to St. George, so we were wondering what the weather for the race would be like. We parked on Diagonal Street on 3rd East and 3rd North to watch them run by. It was so exciting when they came running down the street. We wanted to leave there and get to the finish line before they got there, but it didn't work that way. When we got there we found Shon shivering so bad that I thought he would sure get sick. John went to the car and got blankets and coats for them. Brandon wasn't so cold, but it had rained on them the whole race. They both did very well................even finishing the race would be good. Shon's time was around 4 hours and 8 minutes and Brandon's was around 41/2 hours. We are so proud of both of them for doing it. They sure didn't get any of that from their mother. (Their Dad maybe.) Great day! Even though it was chilly. John and I had our jackets on most of the day.
